Diego Cabrera
Diego Cabrera holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), a postgraduate degree in Private Property Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), and a Master’s degree in Private Law, with honors, from the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), with a focus on Civil Law and International Law. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Sanitation and Structuring of New Businesses in the Sector from the Brazilian Institute of Education, Development, and Research (IDP).
Before joining the law firm Bruno Calfat Advogados in 2014, he held leadership positions at law firms in Rio de Janeiro and Paris, representing domestic and foreign companies in strategic and highly complex litigation. He has proven experience in the strategic management and analysis of lawsuits and appeals pending before State, Federal, and Superior Courts.
He handles arbitration proceedings and mediations, representing clients in cases administered by the Arbitration Court of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Brazilian Center for Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA), and the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC). He also has extensive experience in strategic and significant administrative proceedings pending before public regulatory, supervisory, and/or enforcement agencies.
His practice is not limited to civil and public litigation, but also includes providing legal counsel to clients on their day-to-day operational matters, as well as during the pre- and post-litigation phases, conducting legal risk analyses and supporting them in their decision-making.
Between 2022 and 2024, he served as Deputy Secretary of the Special Sanitation Commission of the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) and as a member of the OAB-RJ Commission for Monitoring, Arbitration, and Regulation of Concessions, PPPs, Third-Sector Entities, and Public Service Providers.
He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro State Chapter (OAB/RJ).
