The law firm Bruno Calfat Advogados represented a consortium specializing in the execution of civil construction projects in appeals heard before the Superior Court of Justice.
As a result of the firm’s efforts, the Superior Court of Justice upheld the decision rendered by the Rio de Janeiro Court of Appeals (TJ/RJ), which found PETROBRAS solely at fault due to the alleged breach of contract. The Consortium’s right to receive full compensation for the losses incurred in connection with the contract was also recognized.
Thus, not only was the Consortium guaranteed reimbursement for the costs incurred during the term of the contract, but its good reputation in the market in which it operates was also preserved, due to the absence of liability for the event in dispute.
